Secrets Playa Blanca is an all-inclusive luxury resort located in Mexico, offering a romantic ambiance perfect for honeymooners, romantic getaways, babymooners, or just trying to escape for a girls getaway! It just opened in February of 2024 and I was lucky enough to visit this resort in early May and stay for four nights as a Romance Travel Specialist. Here are a few reasons, why I absolutely will be coming back to this beautiful resort!
Adults-Only Luxury
My favorite spot at Secrets Playa Blanca was the jungle pool. It felt like an absolutely secluded sanctuary, and heated perfectly for a pregnant lady like myself or a couple looking for a quiet place to relax.

The absence of children allows for a more peaceful and relaxing environment. My favorite part though? The Jungle Pool! Heated to the perfect temperature and surrounded by gorgeous plants, I actually felt like I found a private alcove in Mexico that was only for me. It would be very much worth putting my towel on one of the bed’s at 6 in the morning… but absolutely no one was there at 3 in the afternoon and I felt like the luckiest girl!

Convenient Location
Secrets Playa Blanca is located in Costa Mujeres and I may be biased, but it’s my favorite spot in Mexico hands down. Only 45 minutes from the Cancun airport, if that… The resort is located on a pristine stretch of white sandy beach with crystal-clear turquoise waters. The stunning beachfront provides a picturesque setting for relaxation, beach activities, and breathtaking views. I didn’t spend as much time at the beach, as I did the pool, but there were plenty of beach chairs, lounges, and beds, that you didn’t have to claim at 6am.
Secrets Playa Blanca is also conveniently located near various attractions, allowing guests to explore local culture, adventure activities, and sightseeing opportunities. Whether you want to visit nearby towns, go snorkeling, or explore ancient ruins, the resort’s location makes it easy.
Exceptional Service & Dining
The Secrets Resort brand is renowned for its exceptional service. The staff at Secrets Playa Blanca go above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable stay, offering personalized service, attention to detail, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I stayed in the Preferred Club section of the resort, and my butler, Leticia, went above and beyond. At six months pregnant, this woman gave me everything I needed to make me feel like home BEFORE I could even formulate my thoughts: Extra pillows with a variety of soft/firm levels, extra bath salts for the late night bath, and additional snacks [you know for the baby ;)]
The resort boasts multiple gourmet dining options, including a variety of à la carte restaurants, buffets, and casual snack spots. CoCo Cafe is the perfect place for an iced coffee, some gelato, or a really yummy dessert. I grab a copycat snickers cake to indulge by the pool and I swore I was in heaven! Guests can enjoy international cuisine, seafood, Italian dishes, and more, all prepared by top chefs. The all-inclusive package means unlimited access to these dining options without any additional cost.
The taco baja hit the spot at Seaside Grill at Secrets Playa Blanca
My favorite restaurant was Himitsu, the asian restaurant, that served amazing sushi. Do not miss the tuna tartar, the poke bowl with the fresh catch of the day or salmon, and lastly, the tempura ice cream. I also loved the Seaside Grill!; I went there THREE times! For breakfast you can never go wrong with the green juice and chilaquiles. You wanna talk service? My waiter gave me both red and green sauce as well as chicken and beef, so I can try all four varieties in one bowl because I was so indecisive. Customer service is the real deal here! For lunch, the tuna tataki tostada and taco baja was so fresh and hit the spot after a long travel day.
Guests can enjoy unlimited premium drinks at multiple bars and lounges throughout the resort. Whether you’re relaxing by the pool, enjoying a cocktail at the beach bar, or unwinding in the evening at a lounge, the selection of top-shelf spirits and fine wines is extensive. There was someone even in the pool making drinks and coming around to the chairs. They were always so gracious to make a virgin mojito or mocktail for me. What I also appreciated about their service, is they never hovered - they provided me space but were also available quickly if I started looking for them - which is my ideal service sweet spot.
